Friends, Country Bumpkins, Roamin' Romans- Lend me your eyes (since you're reading this, though if we had a podcast blog I'd need to borrow your ears). On Sunday we were able to accomplish the day shot locations, mostly in the Highlands area. Some places of interest we filmed (I'm going by memory- no offense intended if I forgot your location!): Clifton's Pizza Co. (who gave us a delicious pizza, gratis- thanks!), The Riverbats Stadium, Lynn's Paradise Café, Vogue Theater (and Clodhoppers, the clothing store that now occupies the building), Highland Coffee Shop, Ear X-Tacy, Why Louisville (who provided us with some warddrobe, for keeps, gratis- thanks!), Comedy Caravan (where our very own Red es Rojo did a mock stand-up set), the thing off River Road that is just the front of a two story brick building (not sure the name of this location), amongst some others. The weather was nice (a little cold, but manageable, sunny all day). If you've been keeping up with the blog posts, you'll be expecting that Angie Fenton is our talent. It ended up not working out for her to be in the video, so we have a new actress (courtesy of Angie) named Frankie Spagnolo, fresh from the West Coast! Frankie did great and was a lot of fun to work with, and I'm sure you'll enjoy her part in the video. The night time shoot is coming up in a few weeks, early December. More information soon!

Filming Soon!
Hello friends. Jason again (though you could probably figure out by the nature of this posting!) This will be short and sweet, like a donut hole. Though those (donut or doughnut, choose your preference) aren't short so much as round, and they're not necessarily sweet. You could probably get one that is not glazed and dip it in cheese sauce, or chili, or sour cream, or maybe even buttermilk ranch dressing! I've never tried any of these dippings with a doughnut hole, but let me know what you think if you do!
We will be filming part of our Muckrakers "Lights of Louisville" muvid on Sunday, the 23rd. We are hoping to incorporate some local landmarks, being that the song is about Louisville. If you happen to see us honk and wave (with your entire hand please, not the one finger salute!). Though the horn won't be heard in the video, as the audio will be the song.
More information soon, after the filming!

Muckrakers Muvid
Greetings citizens! Jason here. For our muvid you've heard me mention a few times- we've decided on a few dates in November to film, and as for the main character: we recently met with "The Buzz" Angie Fenton, the Features journalist from the Courier-Journal. She has agreed to be the star of our muvid for The Muckrakers, "Lights of Louisville" and is reportedly "excited" about doing it! This will be our second endeavor for the local band (and nice guys to boot). If you weren't aware, we also did a muvid for them for "Kerouac", with some of our sock puppets from Unraveled. Oh yeah, if you're confused with my word "muvid", it's my fusion of "music" and "video" (yes, a pretty simple concept). I'm hoping it'll catch on. I've heard William Shakespeare is the one that came up with a number of words we use in English, so maybe I'll be the next to pen new words? Another one I came up with- "nebling" (plural: neblings). A nebling is your nephew or niece, and it's gender neutral so you can say, "I have 5 neblings" and if someone needs more details, "That would be 3 nephews and 2 nieces." The word is a fusion of the neh sound from "nephew" and the "bling" that hangs around my neck. Err, rather the bling sound in "sibling". I decided to come up with a term upon having multiple neblings and disliking saying, "my nieces and nephews" a lot.
In other PFCF news: there's a new episode of the Two Matts & A Beaver Show! It is the 6th episode, titled Return of the Jedi. No wait, that's something different that is the 6th episode. Just in time for the current political showdown(s) going on all over the US of A, it is actually titled "A Bucket Full of Politics". They discuss the need for to vote in this coming 2008 Presidential election. Matt B. discusses Mickey Mouse as his candidate of choice, while Buzzy announces his candidacy. Also the two Matts share audio clips from some of their recent adventures inspired by the film "The Bucket List", including skiing in the Alps and skydiving. AND! they have recently submitted the show to iTunes, and hopefully the show will be available there in the near future.
Listen online or download the episode!

Heart Walk Video
Greetings fans. Jason here again. We were recently tapped to produce a video for the American Heart Association's fundraising walk. Myself, Brooks, Steven and James attended and had two units (Brooks and Steven; James and m'self) recording group shots, interviews, etc. It was probably a 3 hour tour, but the boat wasn't lost amongst the waves onto a "deserted island" (that has it's own group of indigenous people!). We probabably walked about 3 miles, from Waterfront Park, over the 2nd St Bridge into southern Indiana, and then a retreat back to start. James and I stayed in Indiana for a bit to score an interview with a Hoosier and to chat with some friends on the north side of the Ohio River, and by the time we'd returned almost all of the participants had vacated. I think throughout the entire venture we did 8 or 9 interviews, asking them why they support the walk, how long they've been involved with the walk, and (if they were one) the survivors we asked how long they'd been a survivor. The survivors were people that had bypass surgery, or some other heart fixing therapy done (I can't recall anything other than bypass surgery right now!). More info about this video once it is finished...

Up Date Thyme!
Greetings fans, family and friends. Jason here, at the helm of the blog for the first time. "Be Gentle." Sorry if this looks strange or unorganized.
Since our last update we've had a few things going on. The 48 hour film contest was in July for Louisville (our lovely city we call "home"). I was the "star" if you will as Kevin Browning. The film specifics: Genre- Tragedy; Character- Kevin/ Kristen Browning, a runner (though not necessarily athletic type of running, i.e.: a gopher at a company, etc., though to my knowledge everyone used the character as a literal runner); Prop- a wrench; dialogue- "But what about global warming?" (yes, really!). We originally pulled "Film de Femme", but that requires a female lead and we didn't at the time have any females interested in being a lead. So our 2nd draw was tragedy. Friday night was similar to our experience last year when we produced Unraveled- lots of ideas, then shortened to a few ideas, then a decision was made as to which concept to go with. "Gravity" is about a man (Kevin Browning) that has a bunch of bad stuff happen all in a short time, and he reminisces about the good and the bad, deciding which has more weight for him.
You can view the film through our site here:
http://www.pushforcheesefilms.com/cheesetv_gravity.php
And if you'd like to leave us a comment, the film is available on YouTube here:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=l15BoUT_xRA (we'd love to know your thoughts!)
Also, today there was a new 2 Matts & A Beaver episode added, a rendition of Abbott and Costello's "Who's On First?" featuring Matt B. and Buzzy.
http://www.pushforcheesefilms.com/2MB_episodes.php
Stay tuned for more information regarding future projects. We might have a few big projects coming up, so those will be announced as the information becomes available to us. Cheers!

The 2 Matts & A Beaver Show
We have released a new episode of the "2 Matts & A Beaver Show"! That makes 4 episodes available for download now. For those who don't know what it is, the show is a variety comedy talk show/podcast based on 2 guys named Matt and a Beaver named Buzzy. We talk about various subjects including baseball, basketball, current events, etc. and have comedy routines spread throughout the shows. Each show is roughly 30 minutes long and sometimes includes zany characters who co-host and call into the show. You'll never know what you will hear!
2 Matts & A Beaver is the brainchild of Matt A. and Matt B. from Push For Cheese Films. While on a smoke break at their day jobs, Matt A. came up with the idea to make a radio show adding various movie themes and company information in a Walt-Disney-World-style audio recording to play in the lobby for customers. The response was okay, however most of the staff opted to listen to satellite radio instead. So Matt A. and Matt B. decided to make their own podcast to give to the world!
Basically it's an experimental project for PFC in sound design and foley work to see how cheap we can make voice overs, sound effects, and do design & editing.
This new episode is called "The ABCs" (Arachnids, Beavers, & Cheese). The name comes from the content of the show where we talk about Matt's dreaded fear of spiders, Buzzy has a big part in this show, and we interview James Neat about Push For Cheese.
All of the stories in this episode are things that really happened.
As far as the history of the show, the first two shows were more of a scripted production with call-ins and voice actors. Now we figured that we would move the show into a different direction and talk about current events and also things going on with Push For Cheese films. The show is mostly unscripted and almost everything is completely improved now.

Catching People On Fire... Well Almost ... **Video Added**
Well a lot has happened since the blog was last updated... We didn't make the Heinz Top This commercial contest.
We're gearing up for the 2008 48 Hour Film Project this year to be held in Louisville on July 18-20, with the festival & screenings on July 23 & 24. Unfortunately filming dates coincide with the Dayton Air show this year, which some of us REALLY wanted to go to this year... so much for that. Anyway... staying up for 48 hours straight filming a movie is more important and more fun... if you rationalize it a certain way LOL.
Anyway we recently had a meeting to discuss and watch Star Wars films for the next (and final) contest we are entering. We almost blew ourselves up once and one of the crew almost got burned alive when we were grilling out... on a charcoal grill. We got this brilliant idea to put this little cast iron grill on top of a plastic milk crate to elevate it, completely ignoring the fact that it's PLASTIC... and plastic MELTS... so anyway, one of the guys had to pick up the entire grill that was on fire with burgers and hot dogs on it and separate it from the half melted milk crate and place it safely on the driveway. Not to mention that as we're pouring the lighter fluid on the grill to light it... the bottle caught fire and that could have ended V E R Y B A D L Y. Damn amateurs... LOL
Here's a video of Steven lighting the grill when he caught the lighter fluid bottle on fire! Note the grill is ON FIRE... standing on a PLASTIC milk crate...
So after the good food, good times, good singed body hair, we got some ideas for the Star Wars contest.
After entering this last contest (other than the 48 Hour Film Project), we are going to move PFC in a completely different direction. We are going to focus on original films to be submitted to film festivals. This is an exciting time for PFC as we look forward into the future. We're also thinking about launching a line of merchandise like bumper stickers, t-shirts, etc. and we'll keep you posted when/if that happens.

We've officially entered the Heinz Top This (Take 2) Commercial contest. All of our entries are on the videos page. We've also entered a commercial in the My Talking Stain contest as well. We had a meeting tonight and discussed several other projects we will be working on. First off we are entering the SpikeTV Star Wars Fan Film contest with two different hilarious scripts, and we will also be entering a contest put on by the producers of the film "Son of Rambow".
The 2 Matts & A Beaver Show should be available on Itunes soon as a podcast. We posted the RSS feed for it and they said that it would take about a week or so to post because they had to review it before they posted it. I just checked and it's not up yet but hopefully it will be up soon if they don't reject it for whatever reason. Anyway it's been about a week so if it's going to be posted, it should be up any day now.
We're also working on a few shorts and a feature length mockumentary which is in the beginning stages of scripting. That's pretty much what's going on around PFC these days!

Heinz commercial filming was Sunday... things went really well except... Brooks thought he was having an allergy fit due to the trees budding because he gets one every year about this time... WRONG... Turns out it was a full out horrible case of bronchitis, and every one of the crew who was there got it... So if any of the people that I made sick reads this... I personally formerly apologize for the mishap.Everyone BUT James got sick... and he sprained his ankle playing basketball that night... I think the Heinz commercial thing is cursed.
Anyway, The 2 Matts & A Beaver show is LIVE online now... just look on the menu, listen, let us know what you think or any ideas you have for future shows, and don't forget the little promo thing at the bottom of the 2 Matts page.

Here's what's been going on the past month or so. Red Ramsey (MC Knickerbocker) had his stand-up comedy debut at Comedy Caravan last night and last I heard it was filmed, so we will put that up soon. Filming will begin Sunday on the Heinz commercial, we've got some really great ideas. The Label X Podcast job fell through, and we've entered a couple of new contests. The 2 Matts & a Beaver podcast is coming on strong, the first episode is finished, and the 2nd one is almost finished. We're making a few before we post them so we can keep a week or two ahead of schedule so we have time to plan record and edit. If anyone wants to be a special guest on the 2 Matts and a Beaver show, contact Brooks.

Not that anybody cares, but if you notice all the web pages end with php now. The reason for that is because I redesigned the site using a php template that I made. This allows me to make changes on the menu without having to edit every menu on every page. Now all I have to do is update the main php template pages and the menus automatically update on the entire website. Before I did this, when I added a new picture gallery, I would have to manually update each page in the photo gallery section, then upload all of those pages back to the server. So instead of editing 8 different pages, I only have to do 1.
It's pretty cool from a technical aspect... I've got a header page which is the banner and the different menus, the middle part where all the main content is... that's another page, and then the footer page is little copyright bar. So the web server takes all 3 pages and puts them all back together again... fun stuff!

We had a meeting this past Wednesday and here's all the new stuff that's going on...The pilot episode of "Your Mama Wears Wrestling Boots" has reached post-production & editing. We hope it will turn out OK!
PFC Films is also currently in the process of striking a deal with local record label, Label X. We will be producing a series of podcasts for them in the very near future. Stay tuned for more updates regarding this project.
We have also begun researching and writing the script for a TV show which will feature events and locations around Louisville. The project has a ton of potential and we hope that we can pull it off. This will be our biggest production yet, so it will take time.
We are planning on entering a TV commercial contest for the Heinz company (greatest condiments in the world), and our script just may make Hannibal Lector proud of us...
1/17/08
James and Brooks wrote and recorded the draft theme song for "Your Mama Wears Wrestling Boots" last night. They had so much fun that the neighbors called and said to turn the music down.
The song is very fun and catchy. James has a copy of it if anyone wants to hear it.

First off, sorry for the lack of updates, the holiday season was really hectic and we've had a few things in the works, but not a lot has been going on until recentlyThe Muckrakers video is finally finished and has been posted on YouTube. You can watch the video in the Short Films section.. We also have begun filming a 3 episode pilot for a reality TV show called "Your Mother Wears Wrestling Boots" which will be pitched to WWE 24/7 and VH1. We are currently the production team for the series which was written by amateur wrestlers Ben Deurr, Martin Evans and Jill Mazzoni in collaboration with Ohio Valley Wrestling (OVW) and Derby City Wrestling (DCW). The series will document the lives of up-and-coming professional wrestlers in training.
12/08/07
We filmed the video for The Muckrakers band last night. We were there about 6 hours and got a lot of great shots. The lighting wasn't very good, and that was kind of a concern, but hopefully the shots came out OK. Now all we have to do is piece them all together. The place was absolutely packed!
We'd like to thank the band for their patience and tolerance of our wacky film crew and not to mention one hell of a show! We'd also like to thank the staff at Gerstle's Place for allowing us to use the location and being very accommodating. Also, special thanks to Stu Pollard for helping us out, everything he does is greatly appreciated by the crew!
Once we get the video completed as to the band's liking, we will post it online for the world to see!
12/05/07
PFC Films will be filming a music video for local band "The Muckrakers" on Friday, December 7, 2007 at Gerstle's Bar on Frankfort Ave. The show starts at 10:30PM. The band has sent out a mass email asking fans who are going to the show to make their own sock puppets for the music video.
The characters from "Unraveled" are going to be in the video as the band's production crew, and we will be filming those scenes before the show. PFC crew needs to be there as close to 6PM as possible, as we have a lot of shots to do before the show and will have a VERY tight filming schedule.
12/05/07
On Monday, Dec 10th, we will be working with Jill from Derby City Wrestlers and OVW on a pilot episode of a reality TV show. The show will consist of the daily lives of Jill as she is a full time mom, business owner, TV show host, and training to become a professional wrestler.
We will also be filming Jill's match at the live OVW show at Davis Arena on Thursday, Dec. 13th at 7PM. It's tons of fun if you've never been to one of those shows.
11/24/07
The BWW Film School Commercial should be online soon. We will link up to it when it is. We're going to post it on Myspace and YouTube hopefully sometime today.
We had a meeting with a local band and Stu Pollard from Pollard Film Consulting regarding two music videos. Filming will begin soon on those two projects.
Unfortunately the deadline for completion of the music video conflicts with the filming and release of "Sew, This is Christmas" so we have had to put our new short on hold until time and resources will allow us to continue. It's unlikely that project will be finished by Christmas.
11/20/07
We filmed our commercial last night for the BWW Film School contest. It was a lot of fun!!! We are pretty confident that it will turn out well. Stay tuned for voting information as whoever's video recieves the most votes wins the contest. Thanks to everyone who came out and supported us!!!
We never heard back from the owners of Waverly, so I guess that filming project isn't going to pan out.
"Sew, this is Christmas" is the new project we're working on. It's due to be released around December 11th. The script for the first scene has been finalized.
We're also working on a script for a live action romantic comedy film.
We've officially entered the Heinz Top This (Take 2) Commercial contest. All of our entries are on the videos page. We've also entered a commercial in the My Talking Stain contest as well. We had a meeting tonight and discussed several other projects we will be working on.
